About the Role

Under general direction, the Irrigation Operations Manager will:

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate a department of approximately 60 team members in the implementation of an aggressive capital construction and maintenance program to sustain and enhance irrigation distribution service and reliability.
• Oversee distribution of irrigation water and manage off-stream storage reservoirs.
• Develop and administer budgets including pest control, inventory, irrigation, field maintenance, capital construction, and fleet maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with and provide technical input to SSJID engineering and technical staff on system design, repair, and improvements.
• Mentor, train and monitor safe, effective, and quality execution of construction and maintenance practices.

We are seeking a candidate with:

• Extensive experience in construction management and operations, including planning and supervising large-scale projects.
• Knowledge and experience with irrigation and water distribution systems and drainage infrastructure.
• Strong organizational, budget, personnel management, and problem-solving skills to manage and coordinate resources effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and mentor teams while ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards, laws, regulations, and SSJID policies.
