Job Description

The Legal Assistant position will provide our new hire with a uniquely experiential opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group’s Foreclosure Department. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong communication skills. Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely maintenance of comprehensive foreclosure workload queues within the client’s vendor management system, from the point of referral through completion of foreclosure sale
  • Ensure foreclosure files are properly documented within the client’s vendor management system, to include actions taken, reasons for delay, and all relevant correspondence
  • Identify and escalate internal and external opportunities to shorten foreclosure time lines
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements as applicable
  • Build and maintain meaningful client relationships by acting as a liaison between multi-location firm personnel and interdepartmental client personnel
  • Participate in special projects as deemed appropriate by management and/or the client

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Some collateral experience/knowledge of mortgage documents and default legal support experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and efficiency
  • Must be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and problem solve

Required Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Basic principles of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control strongly preferred
