Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a senior-level Heavy Civil Structures Estimator to provide turnkey estimating services from project advertisement through award and budget creation. This role involves estimating bridges, retaining walls, shoring, cast-in-place structures, precast structures, box culverts, and associated heavy civil/highway work.

The ideal candidate is an expert in HCSS Heavy Bid, capable of collaborating with clients, subcontractors, material suppliers, and design firms to deliver the most accurate and competitive estimates. This position will work closely with Client’s Chief Estimator, Senior Estimator, and Operational Staff to drive successful project bids.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $110,000 to $135,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complete structures estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid, incorporating all heavy civil and highway components.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and calculations using OST, Planswift, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Analyze project plans, geotechnical reports, and site conditions to optimize estimates.
• Conduct historical data analysis (bid tabs, purchase orders, subcontracts) to refine cost estimates.
• Maintain accurate pricing information for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Manage subcontractor proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and scope coverage.
• Lead bid reviews with Client’s Chief Estimator and management team.
• Develop and present budget estimates for awarded contracts, including change orders and extra work items.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Eight or more years of operational experience on structures projects, including bridges, retaining walls, precast/cast-in-place structures, and box culverts.
• Five or more years of estimating experience in heavy civil/structural projects.
• Five or more years of hands-on experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, OST, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications, crew assembly, and scheduling.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and subcontractor coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in heavy highway estimating and structural productivity analysis.
• Knowledge of AGTEK estimating software.
