About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Coordinator (HR Coordinator) is responsible for supporting all activities of human resources department including: recruitment, payroll administration, benefits administration, legal compliance, safety and administration of HR related regulations for the corporation. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources. This is an on-site position located in Cumberland, ME.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Duties may include, but are not limited to the following areas:
  • Review hours and exceptions in the ADP Portal for accuracy; Enter adjustment for payroll processing employee’s bi-weekly payroll
  • Prepare and review all payroll reports and audit results for accuracy
  • Manage the vacation, sick and personnel accruals for time off program
  • Oversee maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records. Ensure that rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed
  • Audit annual lists of all 401k plan participants for all pertinent data. Submit data and documents to the appropriate trustee or actuary. Maintain files of 401k plan history, data, correspondence, reports, and forms. Initiate record keeping and retrieval methods in compliance with government regulations. Submit information to actuary for actuarial valuation of 401k plan.
  • Develop and maintain tracking and reporting structure for all types of leaves of absence
  • Keep abreast of legislation affecting human resources; monitor company policies to ensure compliance
  • Comply with state and federal employment regulations
  • Recommend appropriate changes in procedures to promote greater efficiency, cost savings, or other benefits.
  • Provides research for projects as requested.
  • Review documents for accuracy, obtain necessary signatures, and route appropriately.
  • Backs up the Vice President of Human Resources in all other HR related functions.


QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired
  • 1-3 years human resources or office experience desired
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people
  • Trait of being dependable and trustworthy
  • Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work
