About This Position

  • Position Summary
    • Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Patient Care Technician gives routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Healthcare Team.
  • Education
    • High School Diploma - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 1 Year Clinical - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certicate or Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals of nursing - Required
    • Adult CPR traing every two years to include CPR (one rescuer) and adult FBAO (Foreign Body Airway Obstruction). Course
      attendance and demonstration - Required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Complies with regulatory guidelines for work area and professional practice. Communicates patient safety risks to appropriate providers. Performs interventions under the direction of the RN/LPN.
    • Patients are identified per guidelines and patient care interventions are provided under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtains and documents patient assessments according to hospital/ department guidelines.
    • Assists in procedures/ exams as directed. Obtains necessary supplies, equipment, and/ or personnel as needed. Communicates data by timely documentation and reporting of abnormal or patient status change to RN/LPN.
