Job Description

About Ignitus Recovery

Ignitus Recovery was founded on a simple realization that people seeking help for substance use and mental health benefit most from care that is connected, personalized, and grounded in real human relationships. The founders recognized the importance of creating a more seamless experience, where individuals feel understood, supported, and guided throughout their recovery journey. Ignitus was built to offer a continuum of care rooted in clinical excellence and the belief that recovery is not a single moment but an ongoing process that deserves consistency, dignity, and support at every stage.

From the beginning, Ignitus was designed to be more than a treatment provider. It was built as a recovery ecosystem that brings together evidence based practices, trauma informed care, and a recovery oriented system of care. By integrating clinical treatment with community, purpose, and long term engagement, Ignitus focuses not only on stabilization but on lasting transformation. The goal is to help each person move toward a life that feels meaningful, connected, and sustainable, supported by a team that walks alongside them every step of the way.

About the role

The Executive Director is the senior leader of AIM Health, accountable, in partnership with the CEO and executive team, for the clinical, operational, and financial performance of all AIM Health locations. The Executive Director leads clinical programming across all AIM Health locations in partnership with clinical, medical, and nursing leaders, ensuring that services for adults with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders are evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, and measurably effective. Working with property management, HR, and finance leadership, the Executive Director ensures that each location is a safe, well-maintained, compliant, and financially sustainable business. This is a clinical leadership role, an operations leadership role, and a builder role: the Executive Director develops new programs, builds and supervises the clinical team and facility leadership team, with support from HR, establishes clinical and operational systems, and works with executive and interdisciplinary leaders to translate the organization’s mission into high-quality care, a safe environment of care, and strong client and financial outcomes. In partnership with the CEO, the executive team, and finance leadership, the Executive Director is accountable for AIM Health’s profit and loss (P&L) and for running it as a revenue-generating business.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at all AIM Health locations, including, as applicable, housekeeping, food service, transportation, safety and security, and client amenities, to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, in partnership with property management.
  • Oversee transitional living programming, working with recovery support and clinical staff to support resident safety, house standards, and smooth transitions from residential and outpatient care.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

7. Facility Management & Environment of Care (EOC) Compliance

  • In partnership with property management, oversee facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, grounds, and housekeeping at all locations, including management of facility staff, outside vendors, service contracts, and work-order systems.
  • Own the Environment of Care (EOC) program for all AIM Health locations, working with property management and compliance, in alignment with Joint Commission standards and Colorado BHA requirements, including safety, security, fire and life safety, utility systems, medical equipment, hazardous materials and waste, and emergency management.
  • Ensure regular environmental rounds, ligature and other client-safety risk assessments, and timely correction of findings in coordination with property management.
  • Ensure fire drills, emergency and disaster preparedness exercises, and required inspections (such as fire marshal, health department, building, and licensing) are completed, documented, and corrected on time; maintain EOC management plans, safety committee records, and survey-ready documentation.

8. Financial Performance & Business Management

  • Own AIM Health’s P&L in partnership with the CEO and finance leadership: develop the annual operating budget and forecasts together, review monthly P&L statements, explain variances, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Drive revenue performance by monitoring and managing average daily census, admissions, length of stay, payer mix, and revenue per client day, in partnership with admissions and business development.
  • Partner with utilization review, billing, and revenue cycle leaders to monitor authorizations, denials, collections, and days in accounts receivable.
  • Manage expenses, including labor costs, staffing ratios, overtime, supplies, purchased services, and vendor contracts, without compromising clinical quality or client safety.
  • Report AIM Health financial and operational KPIs to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, and work with the executive team to develop business cases for capital investments and growth opportunities.
