Join Trinity Boston Connects (TBC)

Trinity Boston Connects (TBC) is a social justice nonprofit focused on healing the impact of systemic racism on youth of color and creating a more equitable Boston for youth to thrive. TBC integrates Trauma-Informed Care, Restorative Justice, and Racial Equity across three programs: Sole Train (after school), Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP) (out of school), and Circle Keepers (during school).

About the Role

The Development & Communications Intern will support TBC's fundraising, events, communications, and administrative work during a busy season. Working closely with the Development team, you will help plan and run TBC's spring fundraising initiatives, including the Boston Marathon, Rodman Ride for Kids, and the Bostonians for Youth Gala, while supporting donor engagement, marketing research, and day-to-day operations. You will also work with program staff to capture stories from TBC's youth programs through photography, interviews, and testimonials.

This role suits a college student or emerging professional interested in nonprofit management, fundraising, event planning, communications, marketing, or journalism.

  • Assist with sponsorship fulfillment, donor outreach, and event communications
  • Support post-event thank-you communications, surveys, and reporting

Development administration and research

  • Maintain donor database records and track donations
  • Prepare thank-you letters, mailings, and other stewardship communications
  • Research prospective corporate sponsors, community partners, and individual donors

  • Help with data entry, document preparation, meeting coordination, and shared files

Communications and storytelling

  • Develop content for social media, newsletters, the website, and fundraising materials
  • Document activities and events through photography, interviews, and testimonials
  • Draft short articles, program spotlights, and social media captions
  • Help organize TBC's photo library and communications assets
  • Follow TBC's consent, privacy, and youth-centered communications practices
Requirements:
  • Current college or graduate student, or emerging professional, interested in nonprofit development, communications, marketing, event planning, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with social media and digital communications tools
  • Interest in photography, interviewing, content creation, or storytelling preferred; prior professional experience not required
  • Able to work independently and with staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • Willing to attend occasional evening or weekend events, especially in spring
  • Commitment to social justice and to supporting Boston's young people

Writing or photography samples are welcome but not required; you can attach them to your application. TBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culturally diverse team, and we strongly encourage applications from a wide range of backgrounds.
