Description:

Summary: Assist in maintaining our fleet of vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and compliant with Department Of Transportation (DOT) regulations when appropriate, while upholding St. Coletta brand standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform thorough monthly vehicle maintenance inspections and accurately document findings within the inspection spreadsheet and flag action items for proper record keeping.

• Conduct oil changes, perform vehicle inspections, and apply lubrication as necessary. Ensure that each vehicle is equipped with essential safety items, including a fire extinguisher, seat belt cutter, and first-aid kit. Review vehicle binders to verify that all required documents are up to date and clearly legible. Accurately and efficiently complete the paperwork related to these oil change activities.

• Working with the Fleet Supervisor, participate in pre-annual DOT inspections to correct discrepancies found.

• Complete repair work orders as assigned in a timely and accurate manner. Report back to the Fleet Supervisor with outcomes of repair.

• Proactively participate in all garage support functions.

• Assist the Fleet Supervisor by informing them of supply inventory on-hand to maintain vehicles: oil, fluids, parts, etc.

• Participate in roadside emergencies as needed.

• Properly dispose of all fluids following EPA disposal standards.

• Maintain the garage to ensure a clean and orderly presence-sweep, mop and take out garbage as needed.

• Provide credit card receipts to the Fleet Supervisor to account for credit card expenditures.

• Participate in committees and meetings, as appropriate.

• Adhere to all St. Coletta policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities within this position.

Requirements:

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

High School or GED education, plus work experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training or experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills: basic computer skills including use of company developed software.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license with a past driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization.

Other Skills and Abilities: Effective time management skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships. Any skills necessary to substitute as a driver as needed. Working knowledge of vehicle mechanical operation and diagnostics.

Other Qualifications: General knowledge of Jefferson County. Minimum one year driving experience in all weather types.
