About the Role:
The Property Manager will oversee the daily operations and management of residential properties with a focus on affordable housing within the United States. This role is responsible for ensuring properties are maintained to high standards, tenants’ needs are met, and all regulatory requirements, including fair housing laws, are strictly followed. The Property Manager will coordinate lease administration, manage tenant relations, and supervise building inspections to maintain safety and compliance. Additionally, the role involves utilizing property management software such as Yardi Systems to streamline operations and financial reporting. Ultimately, the Property Manager will contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of the property portfolio by balancing operational efficiency with tenant satisfaction and regulatory adherence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property management, preferably within affordable housing.
- Proficiency in Biuldium or similar property management software.
- Strong knowledge of lease agreements, lease administration, and fair housing regulations.
- Experience conducting building inspections and managing maintenance operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) or similar professional designation.
- Experience in real estate development or working closely with development teams.
- Advanced knowledge of affordable housing programs and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with financial budgeting and reporting specific to property management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on tenant relations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of affordable housing properties, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including Fair Housing laws.
- Administer lease agreements, renewals, and terminations while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Conduct regular building inspections to assess maintenance needs, safety compliance, and overall property condition.
- Utilize Yardi Systems for property management tasks including rent collection, financial reporting, and tenant communication.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective property repairs and improvements.
- Develop and maintain positive tenant relationships by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with real estate development teams to support property improvement initiatives and new project integrations.
- Prepare and manage property budgets, monitor expenses, and report financial performance to senior management.
