We are looking for a dynamic, energetic teacher for our elementary school. The ideal candidate will love children, understand and develop the whole child and be comfortable and willing to teach various subjects in upper elementary school (3rd, 4th and 5th grades).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience as an elementary teacher and be comfortable working in a Jewish day school. as well as demonstrate a commitment to Lehrman’s mission, values, and philosophy. In addition, he or she will have:

- Teach the following subjects: math, reading, writing and social studies
- Plan lessons ahead of time and share them with the Director of Education
- Work with a variety of abilities within the classroom
- Collaborate with team members
- Communicate with parents in a respectful, professional and appropriate manner

- Commitment to collaboration and a deep understanding of young children and appropriate educational pedagogy.
- An engaging way and the ability to capture the hearts and minds of young children.
- The ability and desire to connect meaningfully with parents and students from diverse backgrounds.
- A diverse skills set and the ability to bring in different activities and games that will strengthen students’ fine and gross motor skills.
- A master’s degree in a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Personal qualities of integrity, kindness, approachability, and a strong work ethic.
- Punctuality and the ability to be present in school during school hours.
- Desire for growth and constant self-improvement.
