Staff LPN at Southeastern Health – Lumberton, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides skilled care to patients assigned to a specific patient care unit, under the supervision of a RN. Supports the patient care process by collecting data for assessments and care planning, and by reinforcing patient/family education and other discharge planning and instructions, as delegated and supervised by a RN.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Required:

· Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nursing. Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in NC. Incumbent will be required to attain BCLS certification within 3 months of hire; recertification required annually.

Preferred:

· Same as Minimum

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to the age group(s) of patients assigned to the unit. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently
