About This Position
The Quality Control Engineer Intern will have the opportunity to observe and participate in all aspects of construction quality control that are encountered in the construction workplace.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support to quality control managers in the implementation of all aspects of the Corporate Quality Management System (QMS) at the project level to ensure all work is performed as required per the project plans, specifications, and approved submittals using the Three Phases of Control
- Develop an overall understanding of the various managerial processes, administrative requirements, and safety-related administration at both the construction site and the corporate headquarters
- Assist quality control manager with document control, submittal review, meeting minutes, QC inspections, observations, and QC incident investigations using company project management software
- Active involvement in day-to-day communication with Project Teams, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, and Owners
- Research and gather statistics and related data for periodic QC Health Checks on projects
- Gain an understanding of advanced technology and software to complete projects as assigned
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required
- Be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical) or other Construction related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
- Trustworthy, self-motivated, passionate and dedicated to high-quality work
- Must always maintain a professional appearance consistent with company standards
- Demonstrate reliability and abide by the company attendance policy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Bluebeam
Job Demands
Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop, stand, bend and, sit, walk, climb ladders and stairs. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or move items up to 25lbs. May be exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals and extreme weather conditions. Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Work hours will vary depending on project requirements and may involve weekends and night work.
