Large Vessel Captain at New DHC – Eastport, Maine

CAPTAIN – LARGE VESSEL

Location: Coastal Maine

Rotation: Rotational schedule 2 week on/off

The Role: New DHC is seeking an experienced Vessel Captain to lead safe, efficient, and professional vessel operations along the coast of Maine. This role requires sound judgment, strong leadership, and a practical, hands-on approach to managing vessel operations and crew performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Exercise command of the vessel and ensure safe navigation and operations
• Lead, supervise, and manage vessel crew
• Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards are followed
• Maintain vessel logs, reports, and operational records
• Coordinate voyage planning, daily operations, and maintenance activities
• Serve as the primary onboard representative of the company

Qualifications

• Master, Near Coastal (500 GT)
• Valid FCC radio operator license
• Valid USCG medical certificate
• Valid TWIC
• Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant vessel operating experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
