Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate or Director, you will assist senior management in the development and acquisition of projects across all product types. This may include the sourcing, underwriting, financing, design, marketing, construction, lease up, and sale of projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing, underwriting, launching, and overseeing projects.
  • Working with construction management teams.
  • Managing active projects and bringing new market opportunities for consideration.
  • Managing project budgets, contracts and development schedules.
  • Serving as a liaison and monitoring the flow of information regarding the project among interested parties including investors, market research personnel, construction groups and architects.
  • Working with city staff to achieve appropriate entitlements for developments.
  • Reporting to Hines, investors, and lenders regarding status of active projects.
  • Working with lenders to facilitate financing requirements for projects.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • MBA or equivalent Real Estate degree is preferred. Bachelor’s degree and related experience may be considered in lieu of post undergraduate studies.
  • Five years of professional work experience and three or more years working directly in real estate development.
  • Experience in multifamily development preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and self-initiator
  • Entrepreneurial attitude toward creative deal structuring.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and multiple projects within a tight time schedule.
  • Ability to analyze real estate from a strategic investment feasibility perspective.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and general ability to abstract legal docs pertaining to projects.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with local and national real estate industry players in multiple markets.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills that can command a room as well as oversee a project day to day.
  • Work indoors approximately 90% of the time and outdoors 10% of the time.
  • On occasion, perform physical inspections of construction sites.
  • Availability to travel within assigned territories as necessary, up to 25% of the time on occasion.
