Manager Patient Placement #8309 at St. Clair Hospital – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Summary

Accomplishes patient placement in consideration of patient needs, physician requests, unit function, and Hospital policies. Utilizes excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with physicians, nursing staff, and other Hospital departments to accomplish appropriate patient placement. Solves complex logistical issues related to admission, discharge, and transfer of all patient types.

Assumes administrative responsibility for the hospital during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, and monitors the activities of nursing personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
2. Appropriate clinical experience with a thorough knowledge of nursing care and significant signs and symptoms of disease, sterile and aseptic techniques, nursing procedures and treatment, inter-departmental functioning, and developed skills to provide technical nursing care.
3. Three to five years of progressively more responsible clinical experience with an in-depth knowledge of the nursing process and a working knowledge of the legal aspect of patient care required.
4. One year of management experience (e.g., charge nurse, nurse manager) or previous supervisory skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

1. A working knowledge of admission and utilization guidelines.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or currently enrolled in an accredited BSN program.
