Summary

As a Server at the Hook & Fork, you'll serve up seafood and other Northwest eats amidst the stunning backdrop of the Olympic mountains along the scenic Hood Canal. You'll provide attentive counter and table service, take and deliver food and beverage orders and play a key part in creating a delightful dining experience that complements the natural beauty of a unique waterfront setting!

We're looking for someone who can...

• Welcome and engage with guests, ensuring a comfortable and attentive dining experience.
• Provide menu guidance, including specials and recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Answer questions about food, beverages, and other Market, Hook & Fork, Marina, or Resort offerings.
• Take and enter food and beverage orders in the POS system; deliver orders promptly.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, address concerns, and respond courteously to requests.
• Maintain clean service areas, perform side work, and assist with dishwashing as needed.
• Handle cash transactions accurately.
• Support teammates by assisting with tables, clearing dishes, and stepping in as needed.
• Remain attentive and responsive to guests’ dining experience and requests, ensuring they are satisfied with food and service.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Adapt to changing needs to ensure smooth operations, as directed by leadership.

Qualifications

• Required | 1+ years’ experience as a Server or similar
• Desirable | Previous outdoor dining experience
• Desirable | In-depth knowledge of Hood Canal region and Mason County
• Flexible work availability including weekends required
• Equivalent education, skills, and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions may be considered

Required Permits & Certifications

• WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
• WA Class 12/13 Alcohol Server Permit (MAST) required within 60 days after hire
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Physical Demands. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand for extended periods, walk, sit, climb stairs, demonstrate hand dexterity, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, push, pull, or crouch. Occasionally, the employee may lift or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision. The role may also require sustained visual and mental concentration.
• Work Environment. Conditions are primarily outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, and temperature variations in an uncontrolled setting. The position involves moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to certain chemicals and wood fire smoke.
