Location: Woodward, IA
Pay: $61,000 – $62,400 annually
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Position Overview

Woodward Academy is seeking a Family Clinical Therapist to provide family-centered treatment for male youth in a residential setting who are adjudicated delinquent or identified as Children in Need of Assistance (CINA). This role emphasizes family systems therapy, caregiver engagement, and reunification planning within a structured normative culture model.

The Family Clinical Therapist works collaboratively with youth, families, and multidisciplinary team members to strengthen family relationships, improve communication, and support sustainable behavioral change beyond placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide family-focused therapy, including parent/caregiver sessions, joint family sessions, and youth sessions as clinically indicated
• Optionally facilitate or co-facilitate family-based or psychoeducational therapy groups
• Meet Iowa billable service requirements (minimum 30 direct contact hours)
• Complete treatment collaborations
• Complete managed care reviews as required
• Ensure all clinical documentation is completed accurately and within required timeframes
• Participate in weekly clinical team meetings and collaborate closely with residential staff, case managers, and community providers

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field
• Active or provisional State of Iowa license in one of the following:
• LMFT / tLMFT (preferred)
• LMHC / tLMHC
• LMSW / tLMSW
• LISW / tLISW
