About This Position
The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Controller in reporting all Treasure Coast Hospice financial and accounting operations. This position will supervise the accountants in the Finance Department. The Accounting Manager will also be in charge of specific financial reporting and is accountable for financial reporting and compliance with account standards and all federal and state regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. CPA or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting with extensive experience in monthly General Ledger closing process and financial statement preparation required. Supervisory experience preferred but not required. Extensive knowledge of internal and external regulatory reporting requirements. Auditing and Non-Profit experience preferred.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite products, Excel and report writing tools.
Key Result Areas
- Accountable for preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and schedules for the Controller and management measured by the reconciliation of general ledger system and year end independent audit reports.
- Responsible for preparation of TCH’s 990 Tax returns and property tax returns as measured by timely filing and acceptance of governmental agencies.
- Responsible for assisting the Controller in achieving the corporate strategic budget targets by communicating with all management in their preparation of department budgets as measured by the monthly reporting of individual department and corporate budget vs. actual expenditures.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and filing of governmental regulatory reports for management as measured by receiving no fines and maintaining active licensures.
- Responsible for overseeing the accountants in preparation of their daily functions as measured by timely and accurate financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Health compliance program, including an emphasis to report, as well as comply with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program.
- Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization, as requested and assigned.

Position will be categorized as category III (involves no routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues).
Working Conditions
- Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling
- Sedentary – Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria met.

Additional Information
Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. The person in the position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
