🕒 Employment Type: Per Diem - 10 weeks

📌 Shift/Schedule:Selected interns must commit to all program dates. There are no exceptions. Must be prepared for a full 36–40-hour commitment per week. Weekend rotation required. The Intern may be required to work on a holiday. Must be available for a day and/or night shift position. This commitment will prepare the Interns for the responsibilities of a professional nurse.

💰 Salary Range: $18.56 - $29.55/ hour based on verified education and experience

🎯 About the Role

Our 10-week Summer Summer Nurse I Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students with an educational opportunity to improve their nursing skills in the clinical setting while at the same time providing them with employment for the summer and during school breaks. Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse I Intern will provide direct patient care, gain hands-on experience, and enhance communication and assessment skills.

• By rotating through various units, the Summer Nurse Intern I will gain a deeper understanding of the differences between acute care, medical and surgical care, critical care, emergency care, behavioral health, and procedural care. This rotation system is designed to provide a broad learning experience, allowing interns to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge that will be beneficial in their future nursing careers.
• The Summer Nurse I Intern will have the opportunity to work with members of the interdisciplinary care team to help to foster collegial relationships.
• Educational in-services are presented throughout the summer to supplement the learning process further. These in-services cover a wide range of topics, from specific procedures to patient care techniques, and are designed to enhance the Interns’ learning experience and prepare for the Interns’ future nursing career.
• Summer Nurse I Interns will receive a competitive salary. Centralized and unit-based orientation will be provided.
• Upon successful completion of the summer internship, interns will continue to work as a Patient Care Assistant and have an opportunity to interview for a position on the unit of their choice, with flexible hours to meet the demands of the academic school year. From here, the interns are encouraged to apply for a position as a Summer Nurse II intern the summer before graduation.

📋 What You Bring

• Completed at least one semester of nursing clinical rotations
• Anticipated graduations a s a Registered Nurse after 2027
• Current cumulative HPA of a 3.0 or higher
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
