Our Decision Science practice was built because of this need, unifying business and marketing analytics, research, and data science capabilities into one team.

The vision of the Decision Science team is to use data and technology to uncover evidence-based insights that drive better decisions, faster.

As a centralized resource at Hill Holliday, this group brings data to all stages of a marketing process, working seamlessly with strategy, creative, media, and client teams to solve a variety of marketing and marketing-adjacent problems. Thus, this team is deeply involved in each stage: from assessing the business opportunity, to uncovering consumer insights that fuel our brief, to using the latest technology to inform our angles of attack in media and messaging, to deploying a comprehensive set of analytics solutions to quantify the true ROI of our efforts.

The Associate Director,Marketing Analytics will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing with mid-to-senior clients seamlessly, bringing a strong, demonstrated knowledge of client business. Serves as the primary point of contact representing the data analytics objectives for the client.
  • Managing team output and the delivery of on-time, error-free work streams above client expectations.
  • Being seen as a go-to representative with strong knowledge of team functions pulling in senior or cross-capability leadership as opportunities arise.
  • Generating appropriate (and measurable) hypotheses. Intellectually curious and challenges the team to push innovation of the data product and resulting implications.
  • Strong, demonstrated knowledge of database management, statistical analyses, insight development, and storytelling.
  • Introducing new thinking beyond observed insights, bringing innovative, data-inspired hypotheses and thoughts to the team.
  • Developing measurement initiatives across multiple channels from the ground up. Then, execute the data strategy, involving others.
  • Has the experience to develop analytic plans for new emerging channels (based on the infrastructure level of data available) and ability to guide a junior team to forecast complex projects.
  • Support senior leaders on the evolution of the Decision Science capability, including: evaluating new data partnerships, assessing and executing data transformation roadmaps, and collaborating on staffing and other operational considerations.

    • Acting as leader for junior team members across client teams and leading junior members in visualization as a storytelling technique.
    • Leading training in technologies, including statistical analysis tools, visualization platforms, media analytics tools, etc. Leading at least 1 training per calendar year on a topic of his/her choice, relevant to our work.
    • Continuously reading, learning, and proactively thinking about ways to make our work and our team better.
Requirements:

Desired Experience:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in an advertising agency or comparable media and communications focused organization in data analytics function.
  • Experience analyzing paid advertising / media campaigns; ideally in cross-functional organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing analytics, math, statistics or related field. Advanced degree preferred, but not required.
