As a Help Desk Specialist with our Information Technology Department you will work in a customer service oriented environment and will be responsible for providing technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner. This position will answer questions and resolve technical problems within assigned topical or functional areas in person, by telephone, remotely or electronically. This position reports to the IT Director.
We currently have a full-time position available Monday through Friday, working 40 hours per week.
Wages start at $45,000 to 55,000 per annum based on experience. Employee benefits include 401k with matching contributions, health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off including 11 paid federal holidays.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize excellent customer service skills and strive to exceed users expectations
- Respond to user inquiries regarding computer software and/or hardware operational issues and take appropriate actions to resolve related problems
- Track, route, and monitor open help desk tickets to ensure that issues are worked and resolved in a timely manner
- Work within a team environment to properly and timely escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical staff
- Install and perform non-mission critical repairs to hardware, software or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of hardware and software
- Maintain inventory of all Bank computing and data communications equipment
- Manage user creation and PC deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
- Provide support to remote users
- Assist with administration of mobile device management
- Assist in managing vendor relationships to ensure service levels and contract requirements are maintained
- Assist in other areas, such as risk assessment preparation, vendor management and/or server log management, at the direction of the IT Director
- Provide after-hours support on a rotating basis with other IT employees
- Perform other job related duties or special projects as assigned
- Comply with all relevant Bank policies
- Some travel required
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED required. An associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred.
- One to two years applicable industry experience is preferred
- IT helpdesk and/or customer service experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft products; certifications preferred
- Demonstrated analytical abilities and decision-making ability
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Participation in continuing education opportunities
- Demonstrates solid time management and organization skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with people in a wide range of positions and levels
- Detail oriented
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time
- Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone
- Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
- This job may require bending and lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently
