About This Position

Professional Land Surveyor (MD License)- Maryland Travel

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) / State Highway Administration (SHA) project experience to support transportation and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for performing and managing field and office surveying activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of survey data for roadway, bridge, and civil construction projects.

Candidates must be licensed in Maryland.

This position features travel to Maryland client sites when needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys for transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct field surveys using GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors.
  • Prepare and review plats, survey maps, alignments, and legal descriptions.
  • Interpret roadway and civil engineering plans and coordinate survey needs with project teams.
  • Ensure all survey work meets MDOT / SHA standards, specifications, and submission requirements.
  • Provide construction staking for roadways, utilities, drainage, and structures.
  • Manage survey control networks and establish benchmarks.
  • Process field data and produce deliverables using survey and CAD software.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate field notes, records, and documentation.
  • Support project schedules and budgets by delivering timely survey results.

$120,000 - $170,000 a year
