Job Description
Servers/Bartenders who will be responsible for greeting customers, setting up the dining areas, taking and placing orders, carrying trays and plates, serving food and beverages, and cleaning and clearing tables, mixing and serving beverages, cleaning glasses and bar equipment, and ensuring that the bar and work areas are clean and well- stocked.
Requirements:Some Areas of Responsibility:
- Learn all table and position numbers within one week of hire date.
- Maintain silverware service, when necessary
- Understand and read a food or beverage order.
- Crumb and wipe tables when necessary.
- Remove and wrap leftovers, according to restaurant specifications.
- Greeting guests with a warm, sincere smile and anticipate their needs.
- Follow all steps of service as covered in training.
- Safely and efficiently operate all equipment necessary to the position.
- Must wash hands regularly, according to guidelines.
- Use tact and good judgment when dealing with difficult guests. Respond to their needs with patience and courtesy.
- Move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Understand and complete all side work as assigned.
- Communicate in English to comprehend and perform/follow job requirements in written and spoken direction.
- Perform more than one task at a time.
- Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.
- Confirm that each order has appropriate preparation, plate/glassware, garnish, presentation, necessary serving utensils and is complete before taking it to a guest.
- Arrange food orders according to table and position numbers.
- Understand and follow the allergy procedures of the restaurant.
- Promptly deliver food and beverage items from the kitchen or bar for an entire shift. Check garbage for restaurant supplies, ie. Silverware, ramekins, etc. Empty garbage, keep the garbage area clean and covered.
- Must say the name of food and beverages delivered to guests.
- Communicate any additional information to guests (eating instructions, special sauces, etc.)
- Communicate and follow up on any guest request or concern.
- Promote teamwork among co-workers and employees.
- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
- Ensure that all beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the establishment's recipes, portioning, preparation and serving standards.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:

· Demonstrated energetic, self-motivating and a “can do” positive attitude.
- Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Requires the ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
- Frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions.
