The Assistant Director of Predictive Maintenance and Analytics leads the development, deployment, and operational integration of predictive maintenance and analytics across the airline’s fleet. Serves as a technical and strategic bridge between Technical Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Programs, Reliability, Supply Chain, and Digital/Data teams, ensuring predictive solutions deliver measurable operational value.
This Predictive Maintenance team is focused on transforming aircraft, component, and operational data into actionable predictive insights that reduce unscheduled maintenance, improve dispatch reliability, and shift events from reactive disruptions to scheduled maintenance.
- Leads the development and advancement of predictive maintenance analytics, setting technical direction, analytical priorities, and standards for insight quality and impact.
- Owns the predictive maintenance roadmap, aligned to fleet strategy, operational priorities, and Tech Ops reliability goals.
- Develops and maintain a prioritized pipeline of predictive use cases, supported by data availability, feasibility, and ROI.
- Evaluates predictive alert performance and effectiveness, incorporating results into the airline’s reliability and maintenance planning processes.
- Collaborates with Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Programs to integrate predictive insights into approved maintenance programs, work scopes, and task cards.
- Oversees analysis of complex operational and sensor data (e.g., ACARS, QAR/FDR, aircraft system data, maintenance records, operational data).
- Partners with Digital, IT, and Data Science teams to ensure scalable, reliable deployment of analytical solutions.
- Owns business cases for predictive maintenance initiatives, including cost/benefit analysis tied to reliability, AOG avoidance, maintenance efficiency, and spares optimization.
- Tracks and communicates measurable value delivery to Tech Ops and executive leadership.
- Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience leading predictive maintenance or aircraft health monitoring programs in an airline, OEM, or MRO environment.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance, engineering, reliability, or aviation analytics, with demonstrated exposure to predictive or condition‑based maintenance concepts.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage cross‑functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical and systems‑thinking mindset with the ability to translate data into operational decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to brief senior and executive leadership on technical topics.
- Familiarity with machine learning, statistical modeling, anomaly detection, or advanced analytics in operational settings.
- Proficiency in analytic tools, strong familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience leading predictive maintenance or aircraft health monitoring programs in an airline, OEM, or MRO environment.
- Working knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance processes (CRJ experience a plus).
- Familiarity with machine learning, statistical modeling, anomaly detection, or advanced analytics in operational settings.
- Proficiency in or strong familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar analytics tools.
- Experience working directly with OEMs, lessors, or regulators on reliability and maintenance initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Vice President of Technical Operations Strategy and Sourcing.
