About the Role:

As a Ramp Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling of aircraft on the ground. Your primary focus will be on coordinating and executing the loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail, while adhering to strict safety protocols and operational procedures. You will collaborate closely with flight crews, ground service teams, and airport personnel to facilitate smooth aircraft turnaround and minimize delays. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to the overall passenger experience and operational success of the airline or ground handling company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or airport badges, driver's license is a must.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow strict safety protocols.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in ramp operations, ground handling, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with airport operations and regulatory requirements (e.g., TSA, FAA).
  • Certification in the operation of ground support equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft in accordance with airline and regulatory guidelines.
  • Operate ground support equipment such as belt loaders, tugs, and dollies safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct visual inspections of aircraft surfaces and report any damage or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews and ground personnel to coordinate aircraft servicing and turnaround activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to airport security protocols.
  • Assist with marshaling aircraft to and from gates and parking areas as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo and baggage handling activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings to stay current with industry standards and company policies.
