About the Role:

The Family Partner plays a critical role in supporting families by providing advocacy, guidance, and direct assistance to promote the well-being and stability of children and their caregivers. This position focuses on building trusting relationships with families to empower them in navigating social services and community resources effectively. The Family Partner collaborates closely with other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each family. Through ongoing support and education, the Family Partner helps families build resilience, improve communication, and foster healthy environments for child development. Ultimately, this role aims to strengthen family units and enhance outcomes for children by ensuring access to appropriate services and interventions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a family member in services from a mental health authority.
  • Experience in child advocacy, family services, or social services with a demonstrated understanding of case management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with community outreach strategies and group therapy facilitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training in trauma-informed care or family systems therapy.
  • Experience working within child welfare or family support agencies.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse populations.
  • Proficiency with case management software and data reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with families to assess their needs and strengths, providing personalized support and advocacy throughout their involvement with social service systems.
  • Coordinate and facilitate access to community resources, including mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and family services.
  • Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and monitor individualized family service plans.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions and community outreach activities to educate families on child development, mental health, and coping strategies.
  • Document case progress, maintain accurate records, and report on family outcomes to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.

Child advocacy and family services expertise enable the Family Partner to identify appropriate interventions and resources that support child development and family stability.
