Quality Assurance Engineer II

Location: 9 Malcolm Hoyt Drive, Newburyport, MA, 01950, United States
Base Pay: $81,700.00 - $113,560.00 / Year

Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer II will conduct varied quality activities in all semiconductor and component manufacturing operations from Wafer Fab, Assembly, and Electrical Test Screening through Qualification Testing per Military and JEDEC industry standards. Focus areas may include Commercial products, Automotive products, Assembly processes, or Qualified Manufacturer Listing (QML) compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs customer contract review, identifies and resolves discrepancies.
  • Reviews and approves a variety of engineering documentation including, but not limited to, Customer Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Test Drawings, ATE Test Programs, Burn-In Circuits, & Sales Orders.
  • Evaluates and records customer source control drawing for manufacturing capability, provides recommendations.
  • Supports customer return material authorization (RMA, evaluation and coordination).
  • Conducts failure analysis activities.
  • Provides qualification conformance inspection/engineering support and disposition.
  • Handles non-conforming material review and disposition
  • Use statistical process control & analysis techniques
  • Conducts and leads quality system audits both internally and for subcontractors /vendors.
  • Assists with rating vendors, subcontractors and maintains the approved vendor list
  • Supports customer product change notifications & waivers.
  • Manages final lot review and certificate of conformance generation.
  • Ensures internal document and process compliance to ISO, AS, JEDEC, Military, and IATF standards.
  • Monitors environmental conditions.
  • Participates in customer and supplier interface opportunities.
  • Contributes to Qualification, Material, and/or Technical Review Boards.
  • Monitors internal and external CAR’s and NCR’s for on time execution.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in a Quality role performing compliance and inspections in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Working knowledge ISO 9001, Quality System Standard
  • Working knowledge AS9100/AS9120, Aerospace Quality System Standard
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949-2016, Automotive Quality Management
  • ASQC Certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of DSCC QML program is a plus
  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, Internet, CAD, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in all aspects of semiconductor component manufacturing.
  • Statistical sampling techniques
  • Problem-solving techniques: 8D, Is/Is Not, 5 Whys
  • Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
