Responsibilities of a Cook / Chef:

Preparing delicious and nutritious meals to residents, visitors and team membersAssist in food preparation and planning for special meals, parties and eventsHelp ensure and deliver a positive dining experienceQualifications of a Cook:

Obtain and maintain a valid Serv Safe/Food Handler's permitPrefer six (6) month's experience in food preparation and in safe handling of food and kitchen equipmentAbility to make independent decisions and work without supervisionAbility to lead department in the absence of Culinary Services DirectorDedication to and passion to serve seniors with excellent customer service skillsPositive attitude, the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents and the ability to work in a team environment are keys to successPrevious experience working with seniors preferredAbility to make choices, decisions, and act in the resident’s best interestPossess written and verbal skills for effective communication and a level of understandingCompetent in organizational and time management skillsDemonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skillsHigh school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.About The Ridge Senior Living
