About This Position

The Food Pantry Clerk supports the daily operations of the agency’s Food Pantry. This position ensures that food distribution is conducted efficiently, safely, and in a welcoming manner, while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to agency policies and food safety regulations. Other responsibilities include Client Services & Check-In Operations; Data Entry & Documentation; Food Pantry Operations; Inventory & Compliance; Team Support & Coordination. Specific duties under each category will be addressed as part of the interview process.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Prior experience in food service, warehouse, retail, or customer service is helpful but not required.
  3. Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures (training provided if necessary).
  4. Ability to multitask, work under pressure and prioritize tasks, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
  6. Proficiency with computers and software (MS Office, internet, reporting systems, JotForm).
  7. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations.
  8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  9. Basic knowledge of inventory control and receiving techniques.
  10. Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population and staff.
  11. Must adhere to all organizational and policies set forth by CAPP.
  12. Must maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  13. Prior clerical or administrative experience preferred.
  14. Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
  15. Ability to drive department vehicles (Refrigeration Truck).
  16. Maintain a clean driving record.
  17. Possess a valid driver’s license.
  18. Current Criminal Background Investigation clearance.
  19. Proof of U.S. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
