Supervisor Lab Section BS/MT in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at St. Clair Hospital

Responsible for all diagnostic testing for an assigned section of the laboratory; supervises the activities of personnel working in the section; implements quality control, quality assurance, proficiency programs and ensures compliance; promotes efficient use of resources.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Completion of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program resulting in an Associate’s degree or an Associate’s degree in a related science, or compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988 personnel standards.

2. American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), or equivalent registry required.

3. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory, focusing in the specialty area.

4. Analytical ability to evaluate, implement, and update laboratory testing procedures; administer quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and quality improvement (QI) proficiency testing programs; resolve technical problems and evaluate test results.

Preferred Qualifications

1. American Society for Clinical Pathology registration MT (ASCP).

2. Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related science.

3. Previous supervisory experience
