About the Role:

The Bartender-Hourly position is essential in delivering an exceptional guest experience within the accommodation and food services industry. This role involves preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine, while maintaining a clean and organized bar area. The bartender will engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly and accurately. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations to promote a safe environment for both guests and staff. Ultimately, the bartender contributes to the establishment’s reputation by providing high-quality service that encourages repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Legal age to serve alcohol in the state of employment.
  • Previous experience as a bartender or in a customer service role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Basic knowledge of drink recipes and bar equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced bar or restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of craft cocktails and mixology techniques.
  • Ability to multitask effectively during high-volume service times.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and customer preferences.
  • Greet and interact with customers, taking drink orders and providing recommendations when appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning glassware and utensils.
  • Check identification to verify legal drinking age and comply with all local and state alcohol service laws.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems.
  • Monitor customer behavior to ensure responsible alcohol consumption and intervene when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth service during busy periods and special events.

Skills:

The required skills enable the bartender to efficiently prepare and serve beverages while maintaining excellent customer interactions, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Communication skills are vital for understanding customer preferences and providing recommendations, as well as for collaborating with team members.
