About This Position
Description:
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a part-time Wellness Associate. Under the direction of the Program Manager the Wellness Associate provides supportive services for guests to have a meaningful and successful stay and to learn crisis coping skills to work towards realizing their full potential. Wellness Respite offers up to 10-day stays in an open-door setting, allowing guests to maintain daily activities as an alternative to hospitalization during crisis.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Follows team protocols to document guest treatment information, including medications and follow-up appointments.
- Maintains a working relationship with all guests and provides guest counselling.
- Supports guests in developing coping strategies, advancing recovery goals, and achieving personal objectives.
- Advocates for guests to access needed resources and collaborates to develop social and recreational opportunities.
SCHEDULE: Sunday, Monday, Friday & Saturday | 11:30pm - 8:00am
32 hours p/w | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 5 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays
Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/human service discipline or High School Diploma / GED w/ 4+ years of related experience.
- C.P.R.P. (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) preferred.
- Able to deliver effective individual and group training across diverse learning levels.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
- Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
- Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
- Proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
- MUST a valid NJ driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who use their personal experience with mental health diagnoses or substance use to inspire, support, and empower others.
