About the role

4DMedical is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join its Algorithm team.

The ideal candidate is a skilled Software Engineer with deep experience in training and deploying CNN-based deep learning models for image processing. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong approach to clean, reusable code and translate this to clean, reusable, training and inference code with traceable data governance.

You would be joining our team of Software Engineers as the first dedicated Machine Learning Engineer and be the specialist in developing new models in conjunction with our Research teams as well as maintaining, improving and monitoring our existing models

What you'll do

· Design, develop and improve machine learning models.

· Develop software to manage the training process of new and existing models.

· Integrate the models into production code using Python and, occasionally, C++.

· Design and implementation of production quality Medical Device software.

· Collaborate with other teams to ensure design and implementation meet requirements.

· Write or update design, verification and validation documents.

Qualifications

· Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields.

· Extensive experience in clean, well-structured Python.

· Experience in machine learning techniques, across model design, training and inference.

· Proven experience working in a highly test-driven environment.

· Experience in developing on Linux with containerised images.
· Demonstrated professional experience in Machine Learning, ideally backed with formal study or training courses

· A real appreciation for the value of documentation in everything we do, using automated tooling where possible to demonstrate how and where data was used in every part of the model lifecycle.
· A willingness to learn the Medical Device development lifecycle, with distinct stages of build, verify and then release.
· Experience in highly-regulated industries such as medical and finance software will be helpful, but not essential in understanding how we work.
