This role is a senior advisory and delivery position focused on Software Asset Management (SAM), helping organizations optimize software usage, ensure compliance, and improve cost efficiency across complex IT environments. You will act as a key functional expert, leading SAM initiatives from assessment through implementation while guiding clients on best practices, governance, and tooling strategies. The position requires a strong blend of consulting expertise and hands-on technical knowledge of software licensing, asset lifecycle management, and enterprise IT operations. You will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, procurement, and finance to deliver actionable insights and scalable SAM frameworks. This is a client-facing role with significant impact, where your work directly improves software visibility, compliance posture, and cost optimization outcomes. - Lead Software Asset Management (SAM) engagements, including assessments, strategy definition, implementation, and optimization initiatives.
- Advise clients on software licensing models, compliance requirements, and cost optimization strategies across enterprise environments.
- Design and implement SAM processes, governance frameworks, and operational models aligned with industry best practices.
- Support selection, configuration, and optimization of SAM tools and platforms.
- Analyze software usage data to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to align SAM strategies with broader business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on audit readiness, compliance management, and vendor negotiations.
- Develop reporting dashboards and insights to support decision-making and ongoing software lifecycle management.
- Lead workshops, client sessions, and stakeholder discussions to drive SAM maturity and adoption.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies, templates, and SAM service offerings.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT asset management, or related consulting roles.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models across major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP).
- Experience implementing or managing SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Snow, or equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, software lifecycle management, and enterprise IT governance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing and usage data.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including IT, procurement, finance, and compliance teams.
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business value.
- Experience leading workshops, assessments, or transformation initiatives in enterprise environments.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and compliance-driven thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field is preferred.
