Responsibilities

The Senior Manager – Revenue Accounting will manage a team and report to the Sr Director of Finance Operations. This position has been created to support ongoing improvements and the requirements of the larger company we have become through acquisition and organic growth. The role will be responsible for the revenue recognition and cost of goods sold cycle for two of the Company's largest revenue steams. The team will need to work closely with multiple departments in the organization such as sales, business operations, and treasury operations. A primary goal of the team is to ensure the end-to-end process is as automated as possible.

  • Prepare reporting on customer profitability, including comparison of original deal forecast to actuals
  • Creation & Implementation of new processes to improve close efficiency and accuracy within a growing organization.
  • Partner cross functionally with our sales organization to ensure the accounting is correct. And includes responding to revenue-related inquiries and ad-hoc requests to deliver clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Management & leader our Revenue & Accounting organization through developing talent
  • Ensuring revenue and associated COGS are booked in the correct periods.
  • Implement improvements to corporate systems and business processes to increase the automation of revenue and COGS recognition.
  • Oversee P&L ownership from Gross Profit and above: Revenue recognition & Cost of Goods Sold
  • Ensure new contracts are set up to be booked using the correct revenue recognition methodology.
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliation of Deferred revenue and select other accounts.
  • Oversee contract assets & deferred revenue accounts and establish review and clean-up process. Support interim and year-end audits; maintain strong internal control environment
  • Reviews complex contracts terms and multi-element deals to assess performance obligations and revenue timing & compliance of ASC606
  • Responds to revenue-related inquiries and ad-hoc requests to deliver clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT and design data migration, testing, and user acceptance to ensure data integrity, completeness, and readiness for any go-live projects, updates, and integrations.


Qualifications
  • Preivous Leadership role at a public accounting firm. Preferred
  • Significant experience in team leadership, individual development, task allocation, and coaching. Required
  • 2-5 years’ experience in similar role. Preferred
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting practices and principles, including FASB ASC 606 and related guidance.
  • Significant experience in business process improvement with a focus on deliverables.
  • Effective time management skills to balance the team’s workload and keep to deadlines.
  • Active Learning. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Critical Thinking. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • NetSuite, ServiceNow, Salesforce experience. (Preferred)
  • CPA or equivalent. Required
