Administrator 1, Health Safety at Valtir LLC – Pell City, Alabama

Valtir is hiring a Safety Admin City, Alabama! Starting pay $19 - $21 per hour based on experience and knowledge.

Under the direction of the the Safety Manager Safety Admin will perform daily safety functions as assigned.

What You'll Do:

Perform daily employee spot audits and monthly housekeeping audits
• Update and maintain training records in database
• Collect suggestions and record on the suggestion form
• Scan toolbox talk topics into portal
• Update safety training Matrix
• Transport employees to clinic as needed
• Conduct environmental sampling and prepare reports
• Serve as backup for safety training classes
• Provide proficiency training for forklifts, sky jacks, electric pallet jacks, cranes, etc.
• Assist with the implementation of new safety initiatives as directed
• Assist with suggestion projects as directed
• Perform daily shop floor safety walks
• Complete training to become a first respond

What You'll Need:

High school graduate or equivalent is required.
Minimum of two years experience in safety in a production manufacturing environment highly desirable
Microsoft Word and Excel experience required

Must have the ability to:

• Communicate using verbal and/or written instructions and be comfortable with public speaking
• Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, bills of material
• Perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
• Use the basic functions of a computer with good keyboard skills
• Work schedules shift hours, including overtime as required
• Comprehend hazardous material warning labels and instructions, and plant safety rules
• Must be able to read a tape measure

Must use all required safety equipment
