TRU’s Williams Lake campus is located approximately three hours northwest of Kamloops, while 100 Mile is 2 hours from Kamloops. They are both the heart of the scenic Cariboo region, on T’exelcemc territory within the unceded traditional lands of the Secwepemc Nation.

The University and Employment Preparation Department at Thompson Rivers University, the Williams Lake Campus invites applications for sessional lecturer to teach the following Adult Basic Education course in both Williams Lake and 100 Mile. ENGL 0500/0600 in WL and ENGL 0600 in 100 Mile. May 11, 2026 - June 26, 2026.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field required
• At least one degree in English required
• Teaching Certificate or Instructor’s Diploma or 5 years teaching experience required
• Experience teaching students whose educational, social and economic backgrounds are diverse, and for whom previous school experience may have been challenging required
• Demonstrated evidence of scholarly teaching required
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in ABE English courses preferred
• Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) preferred
• Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) preferred
• Teaching excellence including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) preferred
