Health Care Aide - Support Services at Lima Memorial Health System – Lima, Ohio

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Health Care Aide functions as a partner to the Clinical Care Team. They are responsible for patient and guest transports throughout the healthcare system. Assists patients and visitors with wheelchair needs and provides general non-medical information and assistance. Assists with turning patients, retrieving supplies needed by the clinical nursing units, and being a resource as needed.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) is preferred, but not required.

Licensure/Certification: Current BLS required or obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Experience: None required.

Skills: Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Must also have the ability to use various computer programs, electronic equipment and communication devices. Must have knowledge of isolation techniques to communicable diseases.
