CDL Driver III at Grayson Carter and Son Contracting

Position Title: CDL Driver III

Department: Trucking - DT

Location: Athens, AL

Essential Job Functions:

Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, to ensure safe operation
Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
Perform other duties as assigned
Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

CDL Class B Required
5+ years’ experience as CDL Driver
Hazmat Endorsement or tanker endorsement preferred
Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
Knowledge of OSHA Standards
Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
Dependable transportation
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
Work weekends and overtime as needed
Committed to attending work each day
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
