About This Position
Job Summary:
Repairs, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment in assigned areas. Observes equipment in operation, performs diagnostic procedures, locates the cause of trouble, and then repairs, adjusts, and/or replaces defective parts; receives and acts upon routine and preventive maintenance work orders on a daily and weekly basis. Requisitions parts as needed. Must have a willingness to work for the best interest of the hospital and take initiative on repairing items without specifically being instructed to do so. Must be able to work under emergency conditions and in difficult situations. Performs other duties as required. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Position would primarily cover ONE of these areas:
- Maintains sterilizers, scrub sinks, vacuum pumps, O. R. tables, O. R. lights, and other equipment.
- Maintains kitchen cooking equipment, disposal systems, furnishings, lighting, etc.
- Responsible for the overall condition of the facility including the kitchen, public areas, patient care areas, etc. (includes all routine maintenance such as replacing lights, unclogging sinks/toilets, equipment and furnishings repair, minor HVAC work, ceiling change outs, PMs, and any other work associated with the overall maintenance and appearance of the facility.)
- Performs basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on building utility systems, including but not limited to the chillers and associated components, boilers, compressors, and medical air systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
- Based on the area assigned, demonstrates the ability to maintain and repair sterilizers, scrub sinks, vacuum pumps, O. R. tables, O. R. lights, kitchen cooking equipment, disposal systems, furnishings, lighting, building utility systems, including but not limited to the chillers and associated components, boilers, compressors, and medical air systems.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Factory training preferred.
Work Experience:
At least two years of experience in a maintenance-related field required. Knowledge of equipment functions and uses, along with previous experience in repairing such equipment, is required.
Certification/Licensure—DUE UPON HIRE
