SCHEDULE

19 hours per week - Typical shifts scheduled during daytime hours .

Days and hours vary based on facility needs, including weekdays and occasional weekends.

SUMMARY

Family Service League is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for a homeless shelter in Lindenhurst, NY. The Housekeeper is responsible for the daily cleaning of the interior and exterior of property and grounds. Responsibilities include daily and deep cleaning as needed. Preparing the rooms for new occupancy and disinfecting common areas.

**$1,500 Sign-On Bonus!**

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Housekeeper will maintain the exterior of the property by assisting with trash pickup and removal, sweeping, glass cleaning.
  • Maintain the interior of the property by performing daily cleaning tasks, including removal and replacement of trash, vacuuming rugs and washing windows and walls.
  • Prepare rooms for occupancy, including a deep cleaning of room and bathroom.
  • The Housekeeper will be responsible for removal of personal belongings left behind by residents after they move out.
  • Daily disinfecting of the common areas, including but not limited to the staff break room, vending machines, front desk, time clock and elevators (in addition to any other assigned areas).
  • The Housekeeper will clean and disinfect staff bathrooms and offices.
  • Launder the agency provided resident sheets, shower curtains and towels.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked laundry area.
  • This position is essential to the safe and continuous operation of the program. Essential employees are expected to report to work during inclement weather and other relevant emergency situations to ensure uninterrupted care and support for clients.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

A minimum of 2 years’ related experience.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.

Effective communication skills, speaking, listening and writing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the ability to lift and carry 20 pounds. Can work overhead, possess the ability to clean walls and glass. Must be able to go up and down stairs.
