Material Handler at TPC Wire and Cable – Macedonia, Ohio

The Material Handler performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet customer requirements.
• Process supplier receipts and customer returns, following specifications.
• Processes all paperwork for International shipments.
• Load and unload trucks that deliver receipts, returns and customer orders
• Ensure that the bill of lading is accurate and all packages are accounted for before the transaction is completed, in accordance with DOT laws and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
• Utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
• Other duties as assigned by manager or group lead.
• Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory

• High School Diploma/GED
• Knowledge and practicing of consistent safety practices
• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
• Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation
• Previous experience operating a forklift or tow motor equipment extended up to 26 feet in the air
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials up to 75lbs
• Good communication and mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions based on training
• Strong attention to detail
