As the Training Specialist, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Support plant-wide training plans for manufacturing and professional teams, aligning delivery with operational priorities.
- Deliver hands-on, instructor-led, and on-the-job training across shifts and departments.
- Apply adult learning principles to adapt instruction for varied learning styles and technical complexity.
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, job aids, checklists, and training materials.
- Schedule, assign, and track training in the LMS; maintain accurate, audit-ready records.
- Observe work performance and conduct skills checks to verify safe, correct, and independent task execution.
- Partner with supervisors and subject matter experts to define role expectations, competency models, and training pathways.
- Facilitate onboarding and role-transition training that reinforces culture, safety, quality, and standard work.
- Coach employees through refresher training, retraining, and follow-up development when gaps are identified.
- Analyze audit results, learner feedback, and completion data to improve training effectiveness.
- Maintain training matrices and qualification records to identify skill gaps, recertification needs, and cross-training opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate training status, priorities, and risk areas to leadership.
- Support training readiness for new equipment, revised procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate degree in Education, Business, Training & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of training, onboarding, or workforce development experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles, structured OJT, and competency-based assessment methods.
- Ability to translate technical processes into clear SOPs, work instructions, job aids, and training content.
- Experience delivering hands-on training and evaluating proficiency through observation, demonstration, or skills checklists.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, training matrices, qualification tracking, and recordkeeping practices.
- Technical writing capability preferred; experience creating visual aids or digital learning content is desirable.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills with diverse learners and cross-functional partners.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally.
- Strong organization, time management, and follow-through skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) for reporting and training communication.
- Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and support training needs across multiple shifts.
- Analytical ability to interpret training data, identify skill gaps, and recommend practical improvements.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
