Job Title: Registered Nurse, Charge (Westover, MD)

Position Summary
Talantage, LLC is seeking a full-time Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to provide leadership and clinical oversight during assigned shifts within a correctional healthcare setting. The Charge RN is responsible for supervising nursing and support staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services.
This role works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Nursing Supervisor and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership to nursing and support staff during assigned shifts
• Coordinate and oversee daily clinical operations to ensure continuity of care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide clinical guidance in urgent situations
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to appropriate medical personnel
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
• Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure staff accountability and performance
• Support staff training, orientation, and ongoing development
• Promote infection control practices and maintain a safe, secure environment
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, and administration

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); BSN preferred
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Current tuberculosis (TB) screening/documentation
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a hospital, outpatient, or long-term care setting preferred
• Prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
• Experience in correctional healthcare preferred
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
