YOUR ROLE

As the Shu Ren Elementary School Teacher you will create an inquiry-based, intellectually stimulating, and nurturing learning environment for students while providing supportive feedback and ongoing communication with families, colleagues and supervisors.

• You love to develop creative and age appropriate learning activities based on students’ interests
• You have a strong commitment to bilingual language immersion education
• You are passionate about fostering a love for reading and writing while developing essential skills like phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary
• You seek to connect with and support a diverse community of students, families, and colleagues
• You excel at keeping up-to-date, student assessment data and have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with parents about their student’s learning and development
• You enjoy working collaboratively with other teachers to develop curriculum, as well as plan for and manage school-wide events
• You are reflective of your teaching practice and are excited to grow and learn through professional development opportunities

• Full professional fluency in English
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Elementary Education or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
• At least two years experience teaching literacy to Kinder and/or first grade students.
• At least two years of work experience teaching in an elementary school
• Fully authorized to work now and in the future in the U.S.
• Experience with teaching the IB PYP curriculum preferred
