Job Description: Inbound Forklift Operator

Location: 13520 Mercury Drive, Laredo, TX

Department: Crossdock Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

As a team member in Cross dock Operations, you will be a part of Carter LOGISTEED Express’ competitive and lively work environment. Forklift Operators are the center of supply chain cross docking in the Carter LOGISTEED Network and play a vital role in the manufacturing of popular brands of vehicles seen on the road today. Forklift Operation requires attention to detail, ability to perform in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Attention to safety and 5S standards are trained and required. Necessary processes to complete job are trained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate sit down forklift; stand up forklift experience a plus Unload inbound freight and incoming shipments from trucks or containers Check materials against invoices, packing lists, and shipping documentation Scan and enter freight into the warehouse management system Inspect freight for damage, shortages, or discrepancies Notify Supervisor of any overage, shortage, damage, or defects to freight Load outbound trailers Maintain a clean and safe working environment Follow all company safety policies and procedures Work Monday – Friday Weekend requirements may apply with advanced notice

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior warehouse and forklift experience highly preferred. Experience operating a sit down forklift required; stand up forklift experience a plus. Must be self-driven with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a team environment. Must be able to follow given directions to complete tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Experience working within warehouse management systems is preferred.

Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is located within our crossdock facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings. You will also need to maintain any and all safety certifications and standards necessary as set by management.
