About the Role:
The Senior Manager of Inventory plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and optimizing inventory management processes within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels that support production schedules while minimizing excess and obsolete stock. The role requires strategic planning to align inventory practices with business goals, including cost reduction and service level improvement. The Senior Manager will lead a team to implement best practices, leverage data analytics, and collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, production, and logistics teams. Ultimately, this role drives operational efficiency and contributes to the overall supply chain effectiveness of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing teams and leading inventory control initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, including demand forecasting, safety stock calculation, and cycle counting.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Certification such as APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Excel is a must
- SAP and Solomon are also needed. Inventory knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in implementing inventory optimization projects that resulted in measurable cost savings.
- Familiarity with advanced data analytics tools and techniques to support inventory decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Lead and mentor the inventory management team to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory data.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics departments to align inventory planning with manufacturing schedules and demand forecasts.
- Analyze inventory trends and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage inventory audits and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce waste, and improve turnover rates.
- Utilize inventory management software and ERP systems to maintain real-time inventory visibility and reporting.
- Prepare and present inventory performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities.
