Position SummaryThe PRM QA Technician position is responsible for supporting and enforcing food safety and quality assurance standards throughout the production facility. Employees in this role will be trained across multiple areas of the harvest and fabrication floors to help ensure compliance with USDA regulations, food safety procedures, and plant quality standards. This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities• Complete quality assurance paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform quality and food safety audits throughout the day
• Conduct fat analysis for ground beef samples
• Perform daily pre-operational inspections
• Calibrate tools and equipment at the beginning of shifts as needed
• Utilize knives and other tools safely and effectively
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Assist across Harvest, Processing, Ground Beef, and Sausage areas as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
• Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP, and USDA requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Previous quality control experience required
• Ability to safely operate thermometers, knives, meat hooks, and other tools/equipment
• Ability to work flexible or irregular hours as needed
• Valid state driver’s license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to complete required background checks
• Willingness to travel for required training when necessary
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the duration of the shift
• Ability to push, pull, and manipulate carcasses on rails repeatedly
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 35°F to 95°F or higher
• Ability to work closely with team members in a production environment
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
• Beef or pork processing experience preferred
• Experience working in a production or processing facility preferred
• Working knowledge of USDA regulations and plant procedures preferred
