The Forklift Operator (Reach Lift) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a reach lift to supply production lines with necessary components and transport finished goods from the line into the warehouse. This role also supports Receiving by assisting with the offloading of incoming materials and performing cycle counts as needed to maintain inventory accuracy. The position requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and adherence to operational procedures. This role may also require operating a standard forklift as needed when a reach lift is unavailable.

Regular attendance is required. This is a safety-sensitive position and should not be under the influence of any substance.

  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of the assigned reach lift, including proper connection and disconnection of charging equipment.
  • Safely and efficiently operate the reach lift to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Supply production lines with required components using FIFO methodology.
  • Move finished goods from production lines to designated warehouse locations.
  • Accurately complete real-time inventory transactions using handheld scanners to reflect all material movements.
  • Verify item, quantity, and lot number for all materials moved to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist Receiving with unloading incoming materials and placing them in correct warehouse locations while verifying shipment accuracy.
  • Support Shipping by restocking finished goods and assisting with order fulfillment as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Prior forklift and reach lift experience preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with handheld scanners and inventory systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Standing and walking for 100% of the shift, walk upstairs and climb up ladders and walk throughout the facility. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms, including overhead; stoops, bends, kneels, and crouches; and must be able to communicate clearly.

The employee must regularly push, or pull, lift, carry, materials and products weighing up to 60 pounds throughout the day, including lifting items overhead. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying and sometimes uncontrolled temperature conditions that are hot, humid and cold, as well as moderate noise levels and moving mechanical parts.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
