About This Position

Fresh Baguette has been DC’s favorite artisanal bakery for 12 years — 9 locations, 4.7 stars, and a loyal community built one croissant at a time. This spring, we’re launching My Fresh Baguette: our direct-to-consumer frozen bread subscription, bringing sourdough loaves, croissants, and pastries straight to people’s doors across the country.

We’re at day one. The website is live, the boxes are packed, and we need someone to help us tell the story.

Social Media & Community Marketer

Starting May 2026 | Germantown, MD and D.C. area | Part-time | On-site & Remote

We’re looking for a creative, hands-on Social Media & Community Marketer to grow My Fresh Baguette's brand across digital platforms, engage our audience, and help launch our direct-to-consumer e-commerce experience. This role blends content creation, strategy, and customer interaction to bring the My Fresh Baguette story to life and build a loyal online community.

*This is a hybrid position requiring at least two days per week in our Germantown, MD office.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and scope
  • A front-row seat to launching a new direct to consumer e-commerce service (and brand) backed by a 12-year bakery with a loyal community
  • A small, passionate founding team that will listen to your ideas and give you real ownership
  • Flexibility on how and where you work
  • Fresh bread. Genuinely.
  • 401K and employer match after 6 months
  • Employee discount in stores (40% off)
  • Exciting growth opportunities

What You’ll Be Doing

Social media & content

  • Manage and grow our Instagram and TikTok: content planning, posting, reels, stories, trends
  • Launch and build our LinkedIn presence (brand story, founder content, behind-the-scenes)
  • Suggest other platforms we should be on — we’re open
  • Work with our creative agency and bakers to surface authentic content
  • Engage daily with our community: comments, DMs, shares, reposts — make people feel seen

Strategy

  • Help shape our content strategy for the launch phase: what we post, when, how often
  • Track performance and share simple weekly insights: what’s working, what to double down on
  • Identify, suggest, and contact nano and micro influencers to collaborate with

Customer service

  • Be the first point of contact for customer messages across social and email
  • Handle questions, delivery concerns, and feedback with warmth and efficiency
  • Flag recurring issues and help us build a simple FAQ and response framework

What We’re Looking For

  • Genuine interest in food, craft, and quality
  • 1–3 years managing social media accounts, ideally for a consumer or food brand
  • Comfortable on camera and behind the camera — reels, TikToks, behind-the-scenes
  • Strong written English — warm and friendly but professional
  • Organized enough to manage a content calendar and responsive enough to handle DMs same-day
  • A self-starter: we’ll support you, but we need someone who can run with it
  • Bonus: experience with Klaviyo, Shopify, or community management tools

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Please attach a cover letter with a link to your portfolio and a launch idea.
